The Mystique of Conspiracy: Oswald, Castro and the CIA
This highly acclaimed book, written by a certified criminal investigator and licensed private investigator (and someone who formerly worked for the U.S. Secret Service) contains a unique foreword by David Atlee Phillips, retired CIA Western Hemisphere Division Chief. David wrote the foreword only a few years before his death. It is one of the only times he opened up about his role in the JFK assassination. The book introduces a new framework to use in order to determine whether a conspiracy theory is plausible or not. The conclusion of the author is that Lee Harvey Oswald was indeed the lone assassin and that the CIA (including David Atlee Phillips) did not conspire to assassinate JFK. The conspiracy theories examined in the book proved to be not plausible for a variety of reasons.
